Originally from Namur, Belgian tenor Pierre Derhet is a laureate of the Singers Academy of the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie 2016.

He played the Mozart roles of Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Mozartiades Festival in Brussels, Jean-Petit Bleu in #Folon at the Opéra Royal de Liège, a Spirit in Dido and Aeneas, conducted by Christophe Rousset, Gastone in Traviata at the Opéra Royal de Liège, a Priest and a Man-at-Arms in The Magic Flute at the Lille Opera, Coqsigru in Le Retour d’Ulysse by Hervé with the Palazzetto Bru Zane in Paris, the Barber and the Father in L’Homme de la Mancha at the Monnaie and at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Un Hérault d’armes in Robert le diable and Palomides in Le Silence des ombres by B. Attahir at La Monnaie, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte at the Opéra de Nice, Azincourt in Fortunio by Messager at the Opéra-Comique, Piquillo in La Périchole at the Opéra Grand Avignon.

Last season, several important roles were taken, notably Bob Boles in Peter Grimes by Britten at the Opéra d’Avignon, The Prince in Trois Contes by G. Pesson and David Lescot at the Opéra de Rennes, Laërte in Hamlet at the Opéra-Comique in Paris, Mercure in Platée at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse and at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, the title role in Richard coeur de lion by Grétry at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, directed by Hervé Niquet, Cossé in Meyerbeer ‘s Les Huguenots at La Monnaie / De Munt and the title role in Fortunio by Messager at the Opéra National de Lorraine in Nancy.

This season, the Prince in The Love of Three Oranges by Prokofiev at the Opéra National de Lorraine in Nancy, The Brazilian in La Vie Parisienne with the Palazetto Bru Zane, Laërte in Hamlet at the Opéra Royal de Liège, Prince Quipasseparla in Le Voyage dans la lune at the Opéra de Massy, Saint-Phar in  Grétry’s La Caravane du Caire at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, conducted by Hervé Niquet, L’Abbé de Chazeuil in Adriana Lecouvreur at the Opéra Royal de Liège.

Pierre Derhet also sings this season Mozart’s Requiem with the Cannes Orchestra.
