Born in Lebanon and raised in Canada, soprano Joyce El-Khoury has performed over 30 leading roles around the world including Norma, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, Suor Angelica, Violetta (La traviata), Amelia (Un ballo in maschera), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Amelia (Simon Boccanegra), Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda, Elisabetta (Roberto Devereux), Imogene (Il Pirata), Desdemona (Otello), Mimí (La bohème), and Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), among others. She has appeared on the stages of The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro Real Madrid, Bayerische Staatsoper, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Canadian Opera Company, Dallas Opera, Teatro Massimo Palermo and has been heard in concert with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonia Nazionale della Rai, Prague Philharmonic, and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, among others.
Ms. El-Khoury’s discography includes Donizetti’s L’Ange de Nisida, Les Martyrs, and Belisario as well as Franz Liszt’s Sardanapalo. Her first solo disc, Écho, was nominated for a Juno Award from the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in recognition of outstanding achievements in the music industry.
