Born in Japan, Ayano Kamei began playing the piano at the age of 4. She completed The Music High School attached to The Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts in Mr Seizo Azuma's class in 2014 and moved to France.

In 2015 she obtained a Diplôme d'exécution (5th performance) in Piano with unanimous congratulations from the jury at the École Normale de Musique de Paris. In 2018 she graduated from the CRR de Paris with a DEM in piano accompaniment and the Diplôme de concertiste de piano and joined the CNSM de Paris in Jean-Frédéric Neuburger's piano accompaniment class. After obtaining her DNSPM in piano at the CNSMDL in Sébastien Vichard's class, she is currently studying in Marie-Josèphe Jude's piano class and in Erika Guiomar's vocal conducting class at the CNSMDP.

With a passion for playing music in a variety of formations, she has given several solo, chamber music and opera concerts in France and Japan. She played Ligeti's trio for violin, horn and piano in a prelude concert by the Orchestre de Paris at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2017, accompanied The Magic Flute in Paris in 2018 with CALYP, and then in Grans in 2022 with Yann Toussaint conducting. In 2023 she accompanied Gianni Schicchi's L'Enfant et les sortilèges. She has been invited to play piano four hands at the Cap Ferret music festival.

She recently gave a concert organised by Mélomanes Côte Sud, and several chamber music concerts as a prizewinner at the Ravel Academy. She has been teaching at the Conflans-Sainte-Honorine Conservatoire since 2020, and accompanying at the CNSMDP since 2023.

Ayano Kamei is a member of the Académie de l'Opéra-Comique in the class of 2024/2025.
