Malvina and Denise Menda scholarships for young opera singers

en

With funds from a generous bequest, the Opéra Comique and the Fondation de France have been awarding 9,500€ scholarships to five talented young vocal soloists every year since 2020. The scheme will go on for about fifteen years.

The awarding of scholarships is based on both social criteria and artistic excellence. The Opéra Comique can thus go further in its support to young talents and promote equal opportunities.

One to two scholarships is/are awarded to students in the third cycle of the Opéra Comique’s Maîtrise Populaire. As they benefit from long-term guidance, Maîtrise’ students who reveal great artistic talents, will be further nurtured in their career and professional insertion by the Opéra Comique.

The other scholarships will be awarded to young singers in the early stages of their career.

Every year, candidates can apply form 21st April to 21st June.
