By living and studying abroad, Fanny has received a rich and diverse higher education. She also discovered new ways of living, thinking and expressing herself artistically.
After three years at the Maîtrise de Paris under Patrick Marco, followed by four years at the Département Supérieur pour Jeunes Chanteurs de Paris, the young Frenchwoman completed her degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. There she learned German, worked with Christine Schäfer, Thomas Quasthoff, Wolfram Rieger and Julia Varady, and explored mainly the Lied and mélodie repertoire. Having played the piano since the age of 4, this genre is particularly close to her heart.
In 2020 and 2021, she will take part in the Lied Akademie des Heidelberger Frühling with Thomas Hampson. Since 2015, the Quatuor Bonelli (made up of Fanny Soyer, Marion Vergez-Pascal, Marco Van Baaren and Adrien Fournaison) has been travelling around France to perform at various festivals. After graduating with the highest honours in July 2019, Fanny will spend an exchange year at the Copenhagen Conservatoire with Helene Gjerris. She joined the Opera Academy of Copenhagen the following year, developing her vocal and theatrical technique, the main genre studied being opera.
The Master's degree she obtained in June 2022, also with the highest merits, enabled her to join the Young Artist Programme at the Danish National Opera. She sang in 4 productions during the 2022-2023 season: Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen, Second Niece in Britten's Peter Grimes, La Musica in Monterverdi's L'Orfeo and Despina in Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte (cover), and studied with Reinaldo Macias.
At the beginning of January 2023, she lends her voice to the music of Wim Wenders' documentary Anselm and records with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra in Bratislava.
During the 2023-2024 season, Fanny sings at Copenhagen Opera the roles of Papagena in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (in Danish!), Echo in Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos, Soprano in Simon Steen-Andersen's new opera Don Giovanni's Inferno, and Governess in Britten's Turn of the Screw (cover) as part of her second and final year at the Young Artist Programme. In December 2023, Fanny met the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra and its conductor Aziz Shokhakimov, with whom she performed Mozart's Mass in C as solo soprano.
Fanny Soyer is a member of the Académie de l'Opéra-Comique for the class of 2024/2025.
