The spectacular rise of mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa reveals her talent and ease in all circumstances, whether on an opera stage, in a concert hall, or in a recording studio.

An exclusive artist with Erato, Marianne has released three albums. The latest, Séguedilles, released in October 2021, is a Franco-Spanish program inspired by her Iberian roots. Oh, boy! was dedicated to famous male roles by Mozart, Gluck, Gounod, etc., while Secrets was an eclectic selection of French and Spanish melodies, performed with pianist Fazil Say. 

In 2017, she was named Lyric Artist of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique, and received a Solo Vocal Recording Award at the Gramophone Awards for Secrets

This season, Marianne Crebassa will return to Paris to sing at the Opéra National de Paris (Don Quichotte at the Opéra Bastille). She will also perform at the Festival de Radio France Occitanie in Montpellier (Kindertotenlieder by Mahler with Mikko Franck and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France) and at the Festival International d'Aix en Provence (La Clemenza di Tito).

On the opera stage, she has notably sung Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Metropolitan Opera, Stephano (Roméo et Juliette) at the Chicago Opera Theater, and Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte) in Berlin and Vienna. She has also performed the title role in *Fantasio by Offenbach at the Opéra-Comique, Angelina (La Cenerentola) at the Opéra de Paris and La Scala, Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) at the Staatsoper Berlin, Cecilio (Lucio Silla), Charlotte Salomon, and Sesto (La Clemenza di Tito) in Salzburg.

While studying musicology, singing, and piano in her hometown of Montpellier, Marianne Crebassa was noticed for her performance as Isabella (Wuthering Heights) at the Festival de Radio France, and shortly after joined the young artists program at the Opéra de Paris, where she performed Orpheus (Orpheus and Eurydice) and Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera). A few months later, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in the role of Irene (Tamerlano). Her career took off from there.

Marianne has given recitals and concerts with the Festival de Saint Denis, the Mozart Festwochen in Salzburg, the Gulbenkian Foundation, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre de Paris, the Wiener Sinfoniker, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Mostly Mozart Festival, the BBC Proms with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Wigmore Hall, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Elbphilharmonie, and the famous Waldbuhne with the Berlin Philharmonic. She was also invited by Daniel Barenboim to celebrate Debussy’s centenary with concerts with the Staatskapelle and a recital at the Pierre-Boulez-Saal in Berlin.
