In a few words
It's a 21st-century urban legend. It is said that one night, children left their homes without notifying their parents, embarking on a quest known only to them. They brought along food, costumes, platforms, and songs. During their stops, they recounted, in music, the story of which they were becoming the heroes. This "great musical fabrication" weaves the narrative of this initiatory journey.
For the young singers of the Opéra-Comique, aged 12 to 23, Geoffroy Jourdain and Benjamin Lazar create a colorful spectacle where the spirit of the "musical fable" from the early days of opera intertwines with that of processions and popular festivals. Our young performers could not have better guides in the baroque repertoire, where so many forms of union between poetry and music, between dance and song, were born.
In this journey, they traverse through different epochs, gathering other modern and contemporary music as well, which accompany their mysterious quest.
