The Opéra-Comique goes beyond conventions, working on a project to create a lyrical show with the town of Limay. Guided by the director, Héloïse Sérazin, and her team of artists, the people of Limay will take part in every creation stage of an opera which will be performed in their town and at the Opéra-Comique in Spring 2024.
The Opéra-Comique offers all Limay’s inhabitants the opportunity to take part in artistic expression workshops and in the collective creation and production of an original operatic piece. Young people aged 16-25, especially, are invited to discover lyrical art as well as the performing arts industry and its many professions. They will be able to explore new vocational avenues and benefit from a first experience in the production of a show.
The town’s teams will be working closely with the Opéra-Comique’s administrative, technical and artistic teams, as well as with the show’s director, Héloïse Sérazin. The inhabitants will take part in the production of an opera which explores the themes of the city and of youth empowerment.
From organisation to artistic design, people will be able to enrol individually or collectively via primary or secondary schools, neighbourhood associations, social centres and municipal services.
