Opéra-Comique. Libretto by Ivan Grinberg. World premiere on 13 June 2014 at the Opéra Comique. Recommended for ages 6 and up. A great opportunity to make our kids opera fans!
Presentation of the work by Agnès Terrier and Chloé Kobuta 40 minutes prior to each performance
A production for all audiences
On a quiet night, Robert the Pig (Robert le Cochon) learns that his friend Mercibocou the Wolf has been kidnapped by Trashella, the owner of the big garbage dump. To set him free, the boldness of Robert the Pig, the passion of Nouille the Frog and the complicity of the Moon will be necessary.
These heroes have long been creatures animated by Ivan Grinberg’s imagination for his children’s bedtime: stories meant for falling asleep and traveling, for dreaming and laughing. In 2005 Marc-Olivier Dupin first composed a musical tale.
In 2014 the characters plunge into the mystery of the big garbage dump filled with heaps of rubbish more or less gifted for music.
The score makes use of all the musical means of expression, and the stage all the driving forces behind drama: a good opportunity to make our kids opera fans!
On the world premiere of Robert le Cochon, the Opéra Comique offers a novel event for children on Friday 6 June at 7pm.
15 children from ages 8 to 10 will be invited to spend the night at the Opéra Comique.
The program:
A picnic in the theater, a guided tour of the Opéra Comique's "hidden" places, attending the evening performance, meeting the artists, discovering stage sets...
Around midnight everybody goes to bed in the Salle Bizet! Not to forget the bedtime story told as Ivan Grinberg… and breakfast!
A playful and didactic way of becoming acquainted with the theater, the work, and of meeting the artists of the production.
