For La Fenice he directed La traviata which inaugurated the rebuilt theater in 2004, Don Carlo (2019), Richard III (Battistelli (2018) and Věc Makropulos (2013). Robert Carsen has been artistic director and designer for exhibitions at the Musée d’Orsay, the Grand Palais, the Musée Galiera and the École des Beaux Arts; the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Future theatre and opera productions include: Oedipus at Colonnus and Antigone for the Greek Theatre in Syracuse, and Cosi fan Tutte for Teatro alla Scala.
