A major player in lyrical creation, the Opéra-Comique launched its new Academy in 2023. Aimed at the new generation of performers, the Académie of the Opéra-Comique seeks to promote the opéra-comique genre and its specific art of interpretation, closely tied to the text and stage performance.
Throughout the year, meet the Academicians for concerts and recitals in the intimate setting of the foyer and Bizet hall at the Opéra-Comique. It’s a perfect opportunity to discover and support the talents of tomorrow while exploring the rich repertoire of our institution.
Programme de la saison 2024-2025
Inventing an operatic form, constructing a recital program, designing a participatory format, or taking part in artistic and cultural initiatives—the Academy offers its participants a unique space for creativity as well as the opportunity to immerse themselves in the process of creating new opera productions.
This season, the academicians will have the chance to participate in masterclasses alongside Cyrille Dubois, Louis Langrée, Sabine Devieilhe, Bill Christie, among others... They will build a new repertoire by learning roles from productions of the lyrical season. They will also collaborate with Myriam Marzouki on the creation of a pocket opera: L'Île de Merlin ou le Monde renversé by Gluck, which will be performed in June 2025 in the Bizet Hall. A partnership with the Musée d'Orsay will offer them the opportunity to perform in this exceptional setting.
Committed to values of transmission, audience expansion, and accessibility, the academicians will also participate in recitals dedicated to disadvantaged audiences or in collaboration with social organizations.
Finally, they will benefit from training sessions with leading specialists in the Opéra-Comique repertoire: Jean-Claude Yon, Julia Gros de Gasquet, Olivier Bara, and Judith Le Blanc.
